Dexcom, a manufacturer of continuous glucose monitoring sensors, wanted new users to get started quickly and confidently, without relying on one to one support. We developed a set of online trainings that guide users step by step, from sensor placement to app settings and alerts.
Dexcom offers multiple sensors, each with its own workflow and instructions. That meant a separate instructional video per sensor, delivered in multiple languages. The trainings needed to work not only for the Netherlands, but also for Belgium and for expats. We translated the full video set into English and French, while keeping quality consistent and production scalable.
Working with Bijl PR and in direct coordination with Dexcom, we chose a different route than traditional re shooting. We used AI that can localize video by convincingly converting spoken language into another language while keeping the original footage intact. We created digital avatars of the Dutch speaking Dexcom colleagues featured in the videos, so they could ‘suddenly’ speak fluent English and French. This made it possible to roll out multiple language versions per sensor without extra filming days or additional on camera demands.
In parallel, we migrated and further developed the platform into dexcomtraining.com, and expanded it for the Belgian market, including adjustments for different units of measurement. Each training module is structured per sensor, ends with a short quiz, and automatically issues a certificate upon completion. The trainings became part of the customer journey: Dexcom’s main website links directly to dexcomtraining.com.
Why this works
This format combines clarity with scale. Users get the exact instructions that match the sensor they use, verify their understanding with a quiz, and complete the training with a certificate, making progress measurable and formal. And because the videos were localized with AI, adding new languages and sensor modules became a repeatable process instead of a fresh production every time.
